Frequently asked questions
When a registered person supplies taxable goods to a person who is not registered (not on the Active Taxpayers List), further tax of 4% of the value is charged on top of the normal sales tax under section 3(1A). It is not charged on Third Schedule (retail price) goods, exempt or zero-rated supplies. Choose “End consumer” for retail sales where further tax does not apply.
For goods such as biscuits, beverages, cosmetics and appliances, sales tax is 18% of the printed retail price, not of your selling price. Enter the retail price per unit on that line. The tax is calculated as Retail price × Quantity × 18 ÷ 118.
FBR requires many registered persons to report each invoice in real time through Digital Invoicing (via PRAL or a licensed integrator). The export creates a draft payload in the DI API field format (seller, buyer, HS code, sale type, rate, value, sales tax, further tax…). Your integrator or ERP sends it to FBR, which returns the FBR invoice number. Enter that number here to print it with its QR code.
Under section 9 and the Sales Tax Rules, issue a note when goods are returned or the value, quantity or rate changes after the original invoice. It must refer to the original invoice number and date and state the reason. Select Debit Note or Credit Note above and fill in the original invoice details.
Yes. Choose “Services (Province)” and pick the authority. Every line then shows that province’s services list and rates (e.g. PRA 16%, SRB 15%, telecom 19.5%, fixed rates for construction and freight).
